Huahine Flying sites

ATTENTION:

  Before all planned flights contact a member of the Flying Toasters and Aerial Control.

The zones of flights are on private properties.

 

Due to the relatively narrow launch and landing zones a high degree of skill and self-reliance is demanded for the practice of paragliding in Huahine.  Also necessary is the command of wing inflation "reverse launching".  The advised level of pilot proficiency in Huahine is the “Certificate of Piloting” (french freeflight association) .  A sporting licence, your flight notebook or passport of free flying, or IPPI card will be requested.  

A VHF radio and safety gear (ie helmet, protecting foam, etc) are obligatory.

(1) Moua Tapu 420:

Take off: E - SE light wind, altitude 420 mètres, certificate level.

Flight: Thermal and soaring, possibility of crossing towards the island’s summit.

Landing: Motu beach

Remarks:  Air current zones forbidden to fly over 1000 metres northwards; ceiling limited to 1000 metres. Access:  1 hr climb (average mountain). Alert air control before every planned flights.

(2) Tefarerii 60:

Take off: E - SE (15-20 km/h), altitude 60 mètres.

Flight: Thermal and soaring, possibility of crossing.

Landing: Village football field or the road alongside.

Remarks: Pay very close attention to the electric lines along the road.   Access:  15 min. climb. Alert air control before every planned flights.

(3) Tefarerii 350:

Take off: N-NE - E - SE, altitude 350 mètres, short launch, certificate level

Flight: Thermal and soaring, possibility of crossing.

Landing: Village football field or the road alongside.

Remarks: Pay very close attention to the electric lines along the road.   Access by four-wheel drive, or by foot (2.5km). Alert air control before every planned flights.

(4) Haapu 200:

Take off: SO (15-20 km/h), altitude 200 mètres, certificate level

Flight: Soaring.

Landing: Village football field or the road alongside.

Remarks: Pay very close attention to the electric lines along the road.   Access:  30 min. climb. Alert air control before every planned flights.
